The current price of durian purchased at the garden is from 79,000 - 80,000 VND/kg, at this price farmers will definitely make a profit.
According to Dan Viet's research, currently in Khanh Hoa province, in addition to the mountainous districts of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh, durian is grown, this tree is taking root in Cam Lam district.
As noted by the reporter, in Son Tan commune, Cam Lam district, Khanh Hoa province, people's durian gardens are growing very lushly, many gardens have now begun to harvest for sale to traders.
According to local farmers, many years ago they mainly grew beans and corn, so their income was not high. Recently, people have switched to high-income-value trees such as Australian mango, Tu Quy and durian, these trees are bringing sweet fruit.
According to durian growing households, every year the selling price of durian only ranges from 40,000 - 50,000 VND/kg, however this year the price of durian purchased at the garden is from 79,000 - 80,000 VND/kg, at this price farmers will definitely make a profit.
Through local introduction, we went to the garden of Mr. Bui Bong's family (Son Tan commune). He said that last year his family harvested only about 3 tons and sold it for 45,000 VND/kg.
He said that this year with an area of 20 hectares, of which only 6 hectares are harvesting fruit. Thanks to favorable weather, this year's fruit was even better. In this case, Mr. Bui Bong's family is harvesting and selling to traders. Currently, the selling price ranges from 79,000 - 80,000 VND/kg, estimated at about 20 tons. With this selling price, Mr. Bong's family will make a profit.
Mr. Mang Du - Vice Chairman of Son Tan Commune Farmers' Association said that the durian trees of the people in the area are growing well and this tree is very promising to help farmers in the area have jobs. Currently, many households boldly grow durian with many different high-quality varieties. Thanks to the locality's convenient transportation system, transporting agricultural products is very easy.
