Prices skyrocketed, coffee exports won big

(HSV VIETNAM GROUP) – From the beginning of the year until now, coffee export prices have continuously reached new records, raising the export value of this potential product.

Price increased sharply by nearly 76%

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Fund (FAO) recorded an average coffee price increase of 38.8% in 2024 compared to the average level of 2023, due to a decline in output amid adverse weather. This organization warns that the global average coffee price in 2025 could increase even more, if output decreases significantly in major coffee growing regions globally.

Statistics from the Customs Department show that Vietnam's coffee exports in February 2025 reached 169.8 thousand tons, worth 964.3 million USD, a sharp increase of 26.7% in volume and 32.2% in value compared to the previous month. Compared to the same period last year, it increased by 6.9% in volume and 82.6% in value.

Thus, in the first 2 months of 2025, coffee exports reached 309.5 thousand tons, worth 1.72 billion USD, down 22% in volume but up 37.2% in value compared to the same period last year thanks to a sharp increase in export prices.

The Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) assesses that Vietnam's coffee exports in February 2025 will grow positively thanks to abundant domestic supply when our country enters the harvest season. Notably, coffee export prices in the first 2 months of the year increased sharply by 75.9% over the same period. Specifically, our country's average coffee export price increased to 5,678 USD/ton, up 4.4% compared to January 2025 and up 70.8% compared to February 2024. Thus, the average export price of this item in the first 2 months of 2025 reaches 5,561 USD/ton, an increase of 75.9% over the same period in 2024.
