(HSV VIETNAM GROUP) - In the 2022-2023 crop year (from October 2022 to September 2023), Vietnam's coffee exports reached 1.66 million tons, export value reached a record of 4.08 billion USD thanks to rising prices. The main export output is still Robusta coffee with 1.49 million tons, worth over 3.2 billion USD.
According to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA), at the end of this crop year, the 10 leading enterprises in raw coffee export volume are: Intimex HCM, Vinh Hiep, Simexco Daklak, Intimex My Phuoc, Louis Dreyfus Vietnam, NKG Vietnam, Phuc Sinh, Tuan Loc Commodities, Tay Nguyen Commodity Trading and Olam Vietnam.
Regarding roasted and ground instant coffee, the top 10 exporting enterprises by turnover are: Outspan Vietnam, Ngon Coffee, Nestlé Vietnam, Trung Nguyen Group, Tata Coffee Vietnam, URC Vietnam, Top Choice, Instanta Vietnam, Iguacu Vietnam and Sucafina Vietnam.
Accordingly, the top Vietnamese green coffee exporting enterprises is Intimex Group Joint Stock Company led by Mr. Do Ha Nam as Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director, with an export output of more than 148,500 tons, worth more than 318 million USD.
Known as Vietnam's "coffee king", the branch of Trung Nguyen Group Joint Stock Company - Saigon Coffee Factory of Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu ranked 4th in the top 10 exporters of instant roasted and ground coffee with an export output of more than 14,700 tons, with a value of nearly 74.6 million USD.
Intimex Group (Intimex Group) was established on the basis of equitization of Intimex Import-Export Company Branch in Ho Chi Minh City established in 1995 under Intimex Import-Export Company (Ministry of Industry and Trade). According to the introduction on the website, Intimex Group currently owns 13 green coffee processing factories with a total production capacity of 750,000 tons/year, 1 instant coffee processing factory with a capacity of 4,000 tons/year.

In 2022, the Group's total export turnover is about 1.2 billion USD. During the year, the company's rice export output increased by 28% to 813,153 tons, continuing to rank No. 1 in the country in rice exports in 2022 with a market share compared to the whole country of 11.26%. By 2023, Intimex Group's rice export turnover has decreased by 41.5%, the rice export market share has dropped to 5th place with 5% market share compared to the whole country.
Coffee export output decreased slightly by 1% to 404,533 tons, market share compared to the whole country was 23.5%, holding the number 1 position in coffee exports. In addition, the instant coffee processing factory operates stably, production has reached a capacity of 3,500 tons/year, export volume is nearly 800 tons and is initially deeply involved in the world coffee value chain.
Export output of pepper and cashew nuts reached 5,137 tons and 3,156 tons, respectively.
Regarding business results, Intimex Group's total revenue in 2022 will reach VND 50,867 billion, an increase of 13% compared to the previous year. Of which, the parent company's revenue reached 23,385 billion VND, accounting for 46% of the total revenue of the Group, pre-tax profit reached 67 billion VND and revenue of member units reached 27,482 billion VND, accounting for 54% of the total revenue of the group, pre-tax profit of subsidiaries reached 86 billion VND.
In general, the Group's total revenue from 2012 up to now is on an increasing trend and will increase sharply in the two years 2020 - 2021 with total revenue in 2021 increasing by 27% and in 2022 increasing by 13%.
Recently in June 2023, Intimex Group just paid a 10% stock dividend. The Group's charter capital increased to 528.56 billion VND. From 2014 until now, Intimex Group has maintained paying dividends in shares at a rate ranging from 5% - 14% per year.
Regarding the business plan for 2023, Intimex Group targets import-export turnover of 1.37 billion USD, an increase of 12% and total revenue of 59,227 billion VND, an increase of 16% compared to 2022. The Group said it will continue to maintain and promote the export of traditional agricultural products that are the Group's strengths such as coffee, rice, pepper and cashew nuts. In particular, focusing on developing three industries: green coffee, rice and instant coffee.
Intimex plans to invest in phase 2 of an instant coffee processing factory, increasing total capacity to 8,000 tons/year. Intimex's ambition is to reach 18,000 - 20,000 tons/year by 2026, becoming the leading instant coffee exporter in Vietnam.
