(HSV VIETNAM GROUP) – The latest statistical data from the General Department of Customs shows that, from January to February, China's total import and export volume of stainless steel reached 321,900 tons, total export volume reached 755,400 tons, net export reached 433,400 tons.
Regarding imports, in February, China's stainless steel imports reached 160,000 tons, down 19,300 tons from the previous month, down 1.19%; down 62,400 tons over the same period last year, down 28.06%. Of which, China's stainless steel imports from Indonesia were 135,800 tons, down 3,600 tons over the previous month, down 2.58%; down 66,700 tons over the same period last year, down 32.95%. From January to February, China's total stainless steel imports reached 321,900 tons, down 133,500 tons over the same period last year, down 29.31%. Of which, China's total stainless steel imports from Indonesia reached 275,000 tons, down 136,100 tons over the same period last year, down 33.11%.
Regarding exports, in February, China's stainless steel exports reached 275,200 tons, down 204,500 tons from the previous month, down 42.67%; increased by 17,000 tons over the same period last year, an increase of 6.57%. From January to February, China's total stainless steel exports reached 755,400 tons, an increase of 78,000 tons over the same period last year, an increase of 11.84%.
Overall, in February, China's net stainless steel exports reached 115,200 tons, down 203,000 tons from the previous month, down 63.80%; increased by 79,300 tons over the same period last year, an increase of 220.89%. From January to February, China's total net stainless steel exports reached 433,400 tons, an increase of 221,400 tons over the same period last year, an increase of 104.43%.
In addition, in February, China's stainless steel scrap imports reached 5,924.33 tons, down 1,846.78 tons from the previous month, down 23.76%; increased 1,333.45 tons over the same period last year, an increase of 29.05%. From January to February, the total domestic import of stainless scrap reached 13,700 tons, down 7,400 tons over the same period last year, down 35.06%.
