March 25: World and domestic steel prices simultaneously increased sharply

(HSV VIETNAM GROUP) - Steel and iron ore prices today (March 25) increased simultaneously due to high transportation costs in the context of escalating global oil and gas prices. Domestically, construction steel prices also increased sharply, fluctuating from 14,440 - 15,020 VND/kg.

At the end of the trading session on March 24, the April 2026 steel bar price on the Shanghai Stock Exchange increased 0.86% (27 Yuan) to 3,150 Yuan/ton.

Iron ore futures prices in today's trading session increased sharply as ocean freight rates remained high, while other steelmaking raw materials such as coking coal and coking coal also increased as many countries stepped up coal imports to meet energy demand in the context of sharp increases in global oil and gas prices.

The most traded iron ore contract delivered in May 2026 on the Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) increased by 0.92%, to 819 Yuan/ton, equivalent to 118.57 USD/ton.

According to records from Shanghai Metals Market, amid tensions in the Middle East, iron ore and coking coal prices still maintain their upward momentum, thanks to the impact of increased shipping costs.
